Inspire by Example or I.B.E. was founded on the principles of combining the worlds of fitness, wellness, and public health. Through this process, we can help bridge the gap and help improve the health in all communities. Our mission is to fight against health disparities, inequities, increase health literacy, and improve health outcomes.

BIO: I.B.E. Founder/Owner- Derek Dorch

Derek’s love for health and fitness started at an early age, throughout his many years of junior, varsity, and collegiate level sports. He honed his passion for fitness during his professional career, serving as a Physical Therapy Aide and Facilities Manager at Focus Physical Therapy & Wellness for more than 13 years. Additionally, Derek has provided personal training while employed at various organizations and businesses including the YMCA- Summit, Powerhouse Gym, Personal Training Institute (PTI), and Focus Physical Therapy & Wellness for two decades. Currently, Derek serves as the Junior Varsity Head Boys Basketball Coach and Girls Flag Football Head Coach for Montclair Public Schools assisting students with achieving their maximum fitness and skills, while maintaining overall health and wellness to achieve top collegiate placements. Derek continues to serve as a personal trainer to clients with various fitness abilities, skills, and desires. He has witnessed first-hand how individual situations can have an impact on health outcomes, making it his aim to provide health equity to all individuals regardless of race or socioeconomic status allowing others to Inspire By Example!

Derek earned his Bachelor’s of Science from Montclair State University in Public Health.
